Be or Become offers medical weight management in Whitinsville, led by Ehab Zekri, FNP. This isn’t a diet program. It’s weight loss handled the way any other medical condition is: with labs, a diagnosis of what’s actually driving it, medication when it’s the right tool, and a provider who follows up.
Patients come to us from Northbridge, Uxbridge, Sutton, Grafton, Douglas, Upton, Mendon, Millbury, and across the Blackstone Valley.
What medical weight management includes
- A full evaluation: history, medications that may cause weight gain, and labs including thyroid, A1C, lipids, and metabolic markers
- Treatment of underlying causes such as insulin resistance, prediabetes, or thyroid disorders
- GLP-1 medications (semaglutide, tirzepatide) and other options when clinically appropriate and covered
- Nutrition and activity guidance tailored your life
- Regular follow-up visits to adjust the plan and track progress
- Ongoing primary care for related conditions like blood pressure and cholesterol
Is medication right for me?
GLP-1 and similar medications work well for many patients, but they aren’t the first step for everyone, and insurance coverage varies by plan and by diagnosis. At your first visit we review your history and labs, go through what your insurance covers, and decide together. If medication isn’t the right fit, we’ll say so and build the plan around what is.
Your first visit
Plan on about an hour. We go through your weight history, what you’ve tried, current medications, and any symptoms that point to a metabolic or hormonal cause. We order baseline labs that day. You leave knowing what we’re treating, what the options are, and what happens next.
Insurance and cost
We accept BCBS, Tufts, Mass General Brigham, Anthem, Fallon, WellSense, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Medicare, and MassHealth. Weight-loss medications are covered by some plans and not others. We check your coverage before prescribing. Self-pay visit rates are available. Call (508) 722-4400 with coverage questions.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to be a primary care patient to be seen for weight loss?
No. We see patients for weight management alone, though many choose to make Be or Become their PCP so everything is managed in one place.
Do you prescribe Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, or Zepbound?
When clinically appropriate and covered by your plan, yes. We go over eligibility and coverage at your first visit.
How often will I be seen?
Typically every 4–6 weeks while adjusting treatment, then less often once you’re stable.
Do you do telehealth follow-ups?
Yes, for Massachusetts residents when no exam is needed.
